For one project, I had to interview a student and ask what they believe constitutes a technology literate teacher. I interviewed Chad, a junior at the University of South Alabama, who is majoring in Information Technology (IT). Chad has been attending USA for one and a half years now. In my interview, I asked him what he believes a technology literate teacher is and if he believes teachers will be more technology literate as future generations become teachers. - I am currently enrolled as a junior at the University of South Alabama. I am earning my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education Mathematics. As educators, we should focus on future generations to ensure that they succeed to the best of their abilities. In order to achieve this goal, educators must be willing to constantly learn and motivate their students to use new forms of technology inside and outside of the classroom. Educators must be self-motivated lifelong learners. As future generations go through school, the use of technology will become mandatory in schools. It is our job as educators to lead our students in their use of technology so that they can better themselves and their educations. We are not going back in time, so educators need to put down the pen and paper and pick up their computers. My ultimate goal is to equip my students with the knowledge and tools necessary to raise the bar in education with the technology generations.
